BOARDING CONTRACT
For
Spirit of Freedom Farm (SFF)
This contract is made between
(horse boarder) and Jane Loughmiller (SFF owner) on
2008. Contract changes by SFF owner, and adding or removing of
horses by horse boarder require a 1 week notice unless arranged otherwise with
SFF owner. For new boarders or new
horses coming in, there will be a 30 day trial period in which SFF owner or
horse boarder may terminate this contract requiring horse boarder to remove that
horse or all his/her horses with a 24 hour notice. All fees and expenses must be
paid before horses can be removed from premises. A one-month deposit is due
along with first month’s board upon arrival.
Base price will be $200.00 per horse per month. Payment will be due on the first day of each month unless arranged otherwise with SFF owner. Late payments are subject to late fees of $1.00 per day per horse. Non payment over 30 days will give SFF owner right to sell horse(s) in order to collect boarding fees, late fees, and any other expenses incurred due to the horse. All fees and expenses must be paid before horses can be removed from premises.

* The amount of feed provided is dependent on the needs of the individual horse. This amount will be decided between the horse boarder and SFF owner. All special diets and/or supplements required by horse boarder will be at boarders’ expense.
Extras available:
(Payment of any extras will be made prior to carrying out) Times are up to SFF
owner.
1.
Stall/Corral-
$35.00 per month or $2.00 per day (Turn-out & evening grain
included)---or---$80.00 per month or $4.00 per day for 24 hour stalling. Horse
must halter & lead easily. Will blanket and/or put on fly mask if requested.
Horse must accept blanket & fly mask easily. (Blanket and fly mask must be
provided by horse boarder)
2.
Private
Pasture -(any size lot where one boarder’s
horses are kept and cared for separate from any other horses—pasture size may
vary and is subject to change)-$30.00 per month (if pasture is available).
3.
Walks-
$3.00 per 15 minute walk. Horse
must halter & lead easily.
4.
Roundpen
exercise- $7.00 per 30 minutes.
Horse must halter & lead easily.
5.
Grooming-$30.00
includes bath, brushing, & hooves picked (no trimming)/$10.00 brushing and
hooves only. (Horse must accept bath, brushing & picking up feet)
6.
Training/Lessons-
Prices may vary.
· Horse
must have negative coggins papers (if not from Indiana), & be up to date on
worming & shots before horse will be accepted unless arranged otherwise with
SFF owner. All medical records provided will be kept on file.
· Worming, farrier and vet checks are responsibility of horse boarder and must be kept current and recorded on file. Horse boarder must make & be present for all appointments unless arranged otherwise with SFF owner. All veterinarian charges and medical supplies are at horse boarders’ expense.
· In
emergency situations, SFF owner is authorized to proceed with treatment and/or
call in a veterinarian of SFF owners’ choice if horse boarder’s vet cannot
be reached.

· SFF
owner is authorized to move horses around facility for any reason (at no charge
to horse boarder). Boarders will not be allowed to move other people’s horses
without the consent of the horses’ owner and SFF owner.
· Please
do not feed (including treats) or handle someone else’s horse without
permission.
· If horse
will be removed temporarily, their spot will be reserved for one month for a fee
of $100.00. After the one-month reservation, normal boarding fees will resume to
hold the spot.
· SFF
owner is authorized to provide reasonable discipline for horse(s) as needed.
·
Absolutely NO abuse will be tolerated.
· SFF
owner is not responsible for death or injuries of horses, boarders or guests.
· Children
under 12 must have adult supervision at all times.
· SFF
owner is not responsible for lost, damaged or misplaced tack & equipment.
Due to the fact that other boarders’ things are here and are not the property
of SFF, please do not use or abuse anything that is not yours unless given
permission.
· Smoking
is permitted outside of buildings only. ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING inside any
building or near the fuel tanks.
· Due to
changing and updating the facility; temporary arrangements; new boarders; etc.,
SFF owner reserves the right to make changes without prior permission from
boarder in arrangements of fencing, placement of horses, and any other changes
that may be required as determined by SFF owner.
· Please
be courteous at all times and clean up after you and your horse. Thank you.
I understand by entering into this agreement with SFF I am legally
bound by all terms and conditions. I also understand that I am subject to legal
fees if my account should become delinquent. I understand that my horses on the
property will be sold to settle my debt with SFF. If the amount collected is
less than what is owed to SFF I will be required to pay the balance in full
within 30 days.
